crowdDear Devil Pups,
We can’t thank you enough for what you did for our son. It is nothing short of a miracle what took place in ten days. Before David went in, he had very low self-esteem and the words first off his lips were “I can’t.” He wouldn’t even try riding a skateboard. He wouldn’t do his homework and the school tells me he was tardy often, showing up for class at 11am, when he felt like it. His GPA was a 1.5. He never did drugs or alcohol though.
We received a call from David towards the end of his encampment stating that his platoon would make Honor Guard and he was proud of it. David was never proud of anything before.
After David returned home from Devil Pups, the following took place:
1. He asked us to buy him a skateboard because he wanted to learn to ride it. He rides it everyday now;
2. He took up surfing and is now surfing at 5 in the morning before school;
3. He gets to school on time, does all his homework, and is getting B grades in his 9th grade high school classes;
4. He joined the high school cross country team and is bringing home awards from each event
Thank You!”

“We sent you a defeated boy and you sent us back a beautiful, courageous young man. Thank you!”

“We sent our son Shane to you as a child with a dream. You returned him to us as a young man with a purpose. What more could a mother wish for her son?”

“My son has undergone the most beautiful metamorphosis…he has gone back to his volunteer work at our church, has been attending his tutoring classes and…get this, now…he has cleaned his room! He wakes his sister every morning at 6am and goes jogging with her! Our house never looked so clean! Even our dog is basking in the change…and the kitty-box?…well, need I say more? My son’s father was killed, while on patrol, five years ago, and your lovely, lovely men gave Victor exactly what he’s been after…discipline…yet love. Thank you and may God bless each and every one of you.”

“Our son, Ted, attended Devil Pups last summer and changed from a punk rocker with no ambition to a student in honor classes, a member of ROTC and Civil Air Patrol. He is highly motivated and even reading books!”

“I am so grateful my son was allowed to go.  He was 14 and not physical at all – a computer nerd!  This program has made all the difference in the world not only for him, but for us as a family. He’s an only child, bright but definitely spoiled.  He would rather sit and be waited on, argues over the smallest chore, etc.  Now he does his chores with “Sure, no problem”, is chipper, cheerful, and for the first time in his whole life goes to the weight room and exercises when he gets home from school. He is NOT the same boy who left.  My son will probably never go into the service, but if he does, the Marine Corps is the only one, because it’s definitely the BEST!”
