The Devil Pups Encampment is held annually with the cooperation and support of the United States Marine Corps. After all the qualifications have been met, acceptance is determined by the Liaison Representative (LR). Each area is given a specific quota of candidates to admit. If you didn’t get accepted one year, you are welcome to try again next year, as long as you are still between the ages of 14-17 and meet the rest of the qualifications.
Devil Pups, Inc. is a regional program only. The majority of our LR’s are located in California. We also have several LR’s in Arizona, Nevada, and Utah. Any interested boy or girl and/or their parents should contact their local Devil Pups LR to determine eligibility.

The first step in the process is to contact a LR. Devil Pups, Inc. has over 40 volunteer LRs covering the major cities and counties in California, Arizona, Nevada, and Utah. Each LR is responsible for recruiting, training, and selecting candidates to attend Devil Pups. Your LR will explain the next steps needed to apply for camp. The application process includes filling out paper and electronic forms as well as a Physical Fitness Test (PFT).
The PFT consists of running one mile, planks, push-ups, and pull-ups/bent arm hang. Each candidate must complete the mile run without stopping and do at least two pull-ups for males or 15 second bent arm hang for females. Each event has a maximum score of 100 points. To pass the PFT, a candidate must reach a minimum score of 200 points out of 400 possible points. The candidate needs to participate in and complete all four events and reach the minimum score to be considered.
